Founder & Chairman IIOH
Prof. Dr. Ramkrishna Sastri
Prof. Dr. Ramkrishna Sastri has been serving as an organizer for the past 50 years in several roles starting from that of a Teacher, President and guide for the next generation. He is the Founder & Chairman of Indian Institute of Oriental Heritage (IIOH).
He aims to promote the Indian culture and heritage from the very beginning. His target was to promote the value-oriented lessons to move forward and achieve Global Peace. He observed the value of Indian culture and the golden teachings of the Sanatan Dharma that can change human beings and uplift their platform of life.
The heritage which develops emotionally through centuries is leading to a scientific analytical force. The Oriental Scholars and Hermits, through persistent meditation, have concluded that every worldly affair is endowed with four characteristics – Dharma, Karma, Prema and Gyana.
First of all, Dharma means nature. Everything has a definite nature, whether living or otherwise. A monkey has a distinct nature, while a human being has a nature of his own. Similarly, metals have their own nature. Secondly, along with the characteristics of nature, there is a certain activity that is attributed to, or that comes out of, every object. This activity is Karma.
Prof. Dr. Ramkrishna Sastri initiated his career during the Seventies. He commensurated as a practitioner in Oriental Heritage at Kailash Bose Street, while he used to realise that the subject should be considered for academic orientation in schools and colleges so that the people will be greatly benefited out of learning throughout West Bengal, other states in India and even abroad. Accordingly, he started teaching the Veda, Vedanta, Sanskrit, Astrology, Dharma and other allied subjects by establishing the Indian Institute of Oriental Heritage, Astrological Research Project and Viswa Jyotish Vidyapith. He became the Founder President of these three institutions in 1975 at 8, Ashutosh Seal Lane and till date, he has spread the Oriental Heritage of India not only in India but also in foreign countries.
Every year during the commencement of the New Year, he holds a Conference where eminent scholars, dignitaries, Vice-Chancellors, students, Central and State Ministers, and Judges of the High Court attend the conference to reciprocate the thought-provoking concepts of Oriental Heritage. During the last day of the 3/4 days conference in the second half, the convocation ceremony takes place, where the participants of the passout students receive the certificates and mementoes from eminent personalities during the august occasion.
Dr. Ramkrishna Sastri has written and published various books in English, Sanskrit and Bengali on different subjects of Oriental Heritage, which are indeed in the syllabus of the institute. He has been editing the monthly Jyotish Siddhanta magazine since 1975, which is a must for students and practising astrologers. For the convenience of the students, he has also established a beautiful library.
After passing the examinations of the institute, candidates start practising in their chambers and help people to get benevolent results to mitigate the pernicious problems they face during the sojourn of life.
Prof. Dr. Ramkrishna Sastri has become a legend in the subject; he is in constant touch with the people of the globe. You are well aware of the fact that he is going to celebrate the ensuing 48th Annual International Conference of Oriental Heritage. 20th to 22nd February, 2026, at Mahajati Sadan, Kolkata, which will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal.
