Indian Institute of Oriental Heritage (IIOH) is a globally acclaimed research University, Cultural & Astrological institute located with its main campus in Kolkata and has many branches across different states of India and many International countries. It is one of the oldest Astrological and Cultural Institutes in India.
Established in 1975 by the eminent and profound scholar, literature specialist, Astrologer and a legend Dr. Prof. Ramkrishna Sastri. First Admissions to the institutions for the subject of Astrology and Tantra, Veda and Vedanta were made in 1975 January Session and it held its first Conference and Convocation on 1 st January 1978. The current campus is situated at Ashutosh Seal Lane with 2000 students in 12 different streams and subjects.
In 2010 IIOH went forward to receive affiliation from Sampurnanand University Benaras and was granted the status of an Institution of Eminence with almost full autonomy and is the first private Institution to provide direct education and certificate which is government university granted under the name of Vishwa Jyotish Vidyapith Sanskrit Mahavidyalay.
The concept of Astrological Conference was first introduced by Chairman Dr. Prof. Ramkrishna Sastri in 1978. Before this there was nominal or no such conference in existence. The very first Conference was held on 1 st January 1978 at Bekar Hall of Presidency University, and was inaugurated by the renouned mathematician and statistician Dr. N. C. Lahiri. The eminent writer of ephimeris books was a philosopher guide and Guru of Chairman Dr. Ramkrishna Sastri, and he suggested that such an Institution should also be started in different parts of the Country, and therefore today IIOH has 36 branches in numerous states of India and abroad.
Since then,
Indian Institute of Oriental Heritage has been conducting Conference and Convocation each year. Renouned personalities like Chancellors and Vice-Chancellors of more than 70 universities has graced the conference floor over the years. Foreign Delegates from across the Globe has visited and delivered speech and Lectures in the Conferences over the years. Ministers from the Central Government like Smt. Nirmala Sitaraman the then Cabinet Minister of Commerce and Industry had inaugurated 39th conference organised in Delhi in
the year 2016.
The then,
Jagat Guru Shankaracharya, Jayendra Saraswati Maharaj from Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham has graced the Conference twice. Once 36 th Conference in the year 2013, at Mahajati Sadan Auditorium in Kolkata and second in Chittaranjan Park, Delhi Conference, 2014. He along with his 108 desciples has graced the Institution with innumerous blessings and Glory forever.
Many other dignitaries from different corner of the world has come as delegates to the past conferences. Central and State Ministers and Many Governors of different Indian States like Tripura, Assam, Orissa, and others has inaugurated the past conferences over these glorious 43 years.
The latest conference was held in the year 2020 February, at Rabindra Bhavan (Surermath) and was inaugurated by the present Governor of West Bengal – His Excellency Shri Jagdeep Dhankar.
After a two years of remourseful covid attack on India, this year as everything has come back to normal, IIOH has reached to its glorious 44 th year in 2022. IIOH feels proud to be organising the Forty-Fourth International Conference and Convocation ceremony this year under the abled leadership of its Chairman Dr. Prof. Ramkrishna Sastri. This conference will notice a revolution towards the new era of Astrology & Dharma Shastra as many eminent and renounced dignitaries are going to participate with their immense amount of knowledge and share that with the whole world on our stage.
